Catch up Tuesday

It has been very busy here the last few months. Gary turned one, has tubes put in his ears, started walking and talking. He keeps me on my toes. My mom went out of town for 6 weeks and so I lost my babysitter. We have been to the Aquarium of the Pacific twice, Palm Springs for mothers day weekend, Dirk's grandparent house in LA 3 times, the LA Zoo 2, the Griffith Observatory, the Santa Barbara Zoo once, School ended and the kids had lots of activities during the last week of school, We bought a 25 ft. travel trailer, Dirk was put in the bishopric, Emma got her first hair cut, just one thing after another. Here are some pics from the last 2 months enjoy!

Emma's first hair cut. Just to get bangs.

We took the kids bowling (Alex was upset because she did bad compared to when she plays the Wii)

Sharks and the Aquarium

My new washer and dryer. Our old dryer decided to leak gas into the house one night. Good thing no one lit a candle. The gas man said if there had been an ignition source then the back of the house could have blown up!

Spring Break

So this year we stayed home for spring break and did things around home. The week before spring break the kids had science fair projects due and an awards assembly.

Here is Nick with his science fair project. He did it on the surface area of a coin.

Alex wanted to do one on catching bad guys so we went for finger printing.

Alex got the Academic award at school for getting all 4's on her report card.

Nick got his name picked out of his classes wildcat jar to recieve a special prize from the principal. He really was excitted.

Saturday we took the family to lake Casitas and went boating for the day. Here they are feeding some ducks.

Dirk let Nick drive for a while

Emma want to go faster, faster, faster!!!

On Monday I took the kids to the Long Beach Aquarium.

Then on Thursday we went to visit Opa and Oma in Artesia. Gary had a blast with Opa.

Boating

So we are going to take the boat out this weekend. While we had it moved to repave our drive way we noticed that it had a flat tire. I in all my spare time was asked to fill it up and see if it held air. Well my air compressor was to weak to fill the tire. Our neighbor ( whom we bought the boat from) ran a air hose from his compressor to the boat so I could fill it up. It was strong enough but the tire had come off the rim. Sooooo, I had to get the floor jack and jack up the boat to fix the tire on the trailor. After it was jacked up the tire filled up nicely, but the valve stem leaked. So then I had to change the tire! My neighbor asked why I was doing it when I had a husband. I told him that I like to let him know that I can do LOTS of things without him and that her better treat me well or he can go. My neighbor laughed and walked away. SO, now I had to find the tire iron and get the bad tire off, take the spare off its hitch, jack the boat up higher to get the new tire on, put on all the lug nuts, and finally let the boat down and move the jack. After I got done I called my hubby to let him know what a great wife he had. He agreed(of course, he wants to come home after all). About 3 minutes after I talked to him the phone rang, it was him asking if I could take the tire in to be fixed tonight! REALLY, beacuse I have 4 kids and nothing better to do. Needless to say I'll be doing it tomorrow. Ohhh, how fun life is!

A jos well done if you ask me!

More Family Events

False chicken pox, The urgent care said it was chicken pox. I didn't think it was so I went to his real doctor and he said it was bug bites.
I let Gary fall asleep in the bouncer.

Dirk and I are buying a used car from a friend. It is so clean. I really like driving it.

Bath time fun. I know that they need to have seperate baths but it is sooooo much easier to do it all at once.

Alex got her ears pierced! My little girl is growing up!

Alex and Gary

Alex got her hair cut for locks of love!

Gary learned how to eat oatmeal!

Family Events

Nick decided to sleep in the stuffed animal box. I think I can get rid of his bed.

I found Emma feeding Gary a cookie....

Then put his paci back in to cover her tracks.

I don't know why my pictures flip when I post them. But here Gary is eating a lollipop that his sister left at eye level. If he can see it it's gone!

My brother Shaun and his family came to visit a few weeks ago. We had all the cousins in our back yard to play and ride horses. Here is Sarah, Melanie, Emily, Alex, and Victoria.

Gary's 9 month pictures

These are Gary's pictures from last week. I think they turned out cute.

My New Hobbie

So the pictures are okay but the eggs are really cool. I had made these type of eggs in high school with a friend. Then about 2 weeks ago I left out 5 dozen eggs and ruined them. So what do you do with 5 dozen eggs. I looked up and bought my Ukrainian Easter egg kit. These are the ones I have made in the last few days. I love to make them. It takes about an 45 min to an hour to dye and mark each one. The more colors the longer it takes. I am getting a head start on Christmas gifts for next year.
